Green Shoots fair

We took our Rhandiroedd Penrhyndeudraeth Allotments promotional stand at the Llan Ffestiniog Green Shoots Fair on Saturday.   The event was well attended and we had plenty of interest!

There were lots of familiar faces in the visitors and fellow stall-holders, and we had some great conversations and a few signups from folks who are keen to become involved or follow our progress.

Successful funding bid

We are pleased to announce that our allotments initiative has been approved to receive funding under the Allotments Support Fund

Uptake of this award is conditional upon us finding a further tranche of match funding, which the committee are now actively seeking through other routes.

We are grateful to Cist Cwynedd for their support of our community initiative.

Outline plans

This is the main entrance to the allotments site.

Cyngor Tref Penrhyndeudraeth have provided us with an initial plan for the proposed allotments. The first set of 10 allotments are intended to be in the area to the right. In the middle the intention is to develop a wildlife garden, and at the left hand end a further set of 10 allotments will be made available in a later phase.

The area designated for the first 10 allotments and the entrance area will be the first area to focus on for clearance.

There is also a small pedestrian entrance at the opposite end, and we have been gradually starting to clear a pathway through from here and to start clearing the volume of litter that passers-by and bus-stop users have been jettisoning over the wall there!
